I Was Rooting For US: RuPaul’s Stats Race, Season 13, Episode 4

BLACK LIVES MATTER!  I fully support the ongoing movement to combat and dismantle the systemic racism that has devastated our country for centuries. Please review the following resources and donate, march, learn and be active. Www.Linktr.ee/nationalresourceslist

THOTS

  • Kahmora was set up big time- April Carrion playing a butch business-woman level set up (see below). Kahmora is a beauty, and not a performer- so giving her the green screen role was a death sentence. She was such a wacky joy interpersonally and I loved her looks (no matter how long I had to wait for them). I will miss her dearly.
  • I know the queens often dislike being compared, but Denali reminds me so much of Tatianna in all of the following ways: her appearance, her bad work in acting challenges and her epic lip-sync skills (though Denali relies more on flips and tricks than Tati). It’s a huge compliment. You’re welcome.

  • Continuing to love the goddess that is Tamisha. How funny can you make “oooh”?

  • WTF were those skits.
  • Kandy, Gottmik and Symone all seem like they will do well in the acting challenges.

CHART

  • Symone has pulled out (buy me dinner first) to a huge lead.

  • Kandy moves into a tie for 2nd with Olivia, and Rosé moves into a tie for 4th with Tina and Gottmik
  • By being in the lip-sync, Denali falls back into a tie for last place with all the first lip-sync losers except for Rosé. Don’t break the ice yet: it’s a fall she can easily rebound from.

  • Elliott, Joey, Tamisha and Utica have yet to get a positive point.
  • If Kahmora had somehow won the lip-sync, she still would’ve been in dead last place statistically.

PREDICTIONS

  1. Gottmik (=)
  2. Symone (=)
  3. Denali (=)
  4. Olivia Lux (+2)
  5. Kandy Muse (-1)
  6. Rosé (-1)
  7. Lala Ri (=)
  8. Utica (=)
  9. Tamisha Iman (=)
  10. Tina Burner (=)
  11. Elliiott with 2 Ts (=)
  12. Joey Jay (+1)
  13. Kahmora Hall (Preseason Prediction: 10th; Most Recent Pre-Elimination Prediction: 12th)

  • It is the Ball Episode this week- the dumbest bitch we’ve ever met (Joey Jay) should struggle.
  • Elliott is sassy but also boring. She could easily go soon.
  • Will Kandy struggle with polish? Will she miss the final? I now have Olivia taking Kandy’s place- leaving Kandy’s final placement as the lovelly fifth alertnate.

  • Lala seems like an early exit right now, but I think she will excel at winning lip-syncs. In the interviewer below most of the queens rate her as the best lip-syncer of the season.
  • Symone could be establishing herself too early as a shoo-in: it’s not a bad sign for Gottmik that she’s a bit under the radar at this point. Just ask Symone’s bestie Gigi Goode how being a frontrunner can work out.

LIST

Symone has won twice in the first four episodes of this season. I wondered who else had accomplished such a feat in the past. Is she in fact a talent we can’t replace? You’ll see below that the answer is assuredly yes. She is the first queen to do it since Sharon Needles did way back in season 4.

Queens who have Won Multiple Challenges in the First 4 Episodes of Regular Seasons:

  • Ongina (Season 1): Episode 2, Episode 3 (5th place)
  • Alexis Mateo (Season 3): Episode 2, Episode 3 (3rd place)
  • Sharon Needles (Season 4): Episode 1, Episode 3 (Winner)
  • Symone (Season 13): Episode 2, Episode 4 (?)

There are more queens who have won twice in the first 4 episodes in All Stars, because seasons 2, 3, and 4 of All Stars had 2 winners each episode.

Queens who have Won Multiple Challenges in the First 4 Episodes of All Stars:

  • Chad Michaels/Shannel (All Stars 1): Episode 3, Episode 4 (Winner/4th)
  • Alaska (All Stars 2): Episode 2, Episode 4 (Winner)
  • Bendelacreme (All Stars 3): Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 4 (6th)
  • Shangela (All Stars 3): Episode 2, Episode 4 (3rd)
  • Manila Luzon (All Stars 4): Episode 3, Episode 4 (6th)
  • Monique Heart (All Stars 4): Episode 1, Episode 4 (3rd)
  • Trinity the Tuck (All Stars 4): Episode 1, Episode 3 (Winner)

The takeaway: Our Arkansas girl is on quite an impressive streak. Let’s see if we’re falling in love, or if she’s the one who will break our heart.

A very fond farewell to Chicago’s Mackie Doll!  May she harness her new free time with ample extra minutes for getting her looks ready. Until next week- Let the music play!
